European energy dependence and the North Seas Countries’ Offshore Grid Initiative (NSCOGI)

  • Analysis of the regulatory, technological and geopolitical constraints that have defeated the initiative for a coordinated deployment of an offshore wind supergrid in the North Sea (the NSCOGI), in the context of an alarming increase in the energy dependence of Europe.
  • This thesis has correctly predicted the economic downturn of the European economy resulting from its increasing energy dependence, including giving alarm of loss of competitiveness with regard to the US economy. It was also proposed a massive deployment of offshore wind turbines in the North Sea to mitigate these risks.
  • The presentation of that thesis was later published in 2019 on LinkedIn.
